Elaine Rava (she/they) is an award winning Writer/Director based in New York City. Through her work she examines the underbellies of human existence, queer love, mental illness and femme narratives. Prior to film, Elaine led Shellscrape Theatre Company as Artistic Director, writing and directing plays for the company that were featured both in NYC and internationally. She then began to explore filmmaking with Fragment Flix, a vertical cinema production company with whom she wrote and directed several short films. Elaine is now studying Writing/Direction at Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema where she wrote/directed Would You Know Me If You Saw Me Now (currently in the festival circuit), Shapeless (currently in post production) and Here With You (in pre-production) which she is honored to be developing as a 2025 Pandora Short Film Grant Finalist.
